WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE WINNEBAGOLAND DIVISION OF THE
MIDWEST REGION OF THE NATIONAL MODEL RAILROAD ASSOCIATION!
Hello....With all the news swirling around with COVID-19 I want to come out and take a stance of how I feel the Winnebagoland Division
should proceed with upcoming events such as the Board Meeting here at weeks end, the spring Operating Session, and the Spring Meet.
It should be stated that the first priority of the WLD should be to not subject our membership or their families to any situations
that could pose a threat to their health and safety. There are a lot of uncertainties in the coming days and I do not want to make a
knee-jerk decision until we have all the facts.
I also feel like we have time before we need to make a final ruling on the status of the spring meet. We of course will follow the direction of federal, state and local government, for example not holding gatherings in excess of 250 members (which may shrink in the coming days), not impose travel, etc. Additionally, the decision to participate in these events is solely yours and if you do not feel comfortable attending any event during this public health situation you can certainly not attend! I want to tell you that our officers and board of directors are working hard to communicate updates to our schedule of events with Winnebagoland Division of the NMRA. Again our goal here at the Winnebagoland Division is to ensure that our members get the most out of their NMRA experience - however we will do that in a safe manner!!!
If you have any questions regarding this issue please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your patience through these uncertain times.

Next WLD BOD Meeting:
Saturday, April 4, 2020....a virtual meeting using a web based conferencing service at 10:30 AM.
The Winnebagoland Division, MWR, NMRA, is a not-for profit organization and exists to promote the hobby of scale model railroading. The Division was officially chartered in April, 1965. It encompasses the entire Northeastern portion of Wisconsin and the Western half of the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. We have nearly 230 NMRA members, four Master Model Railroaders, and countless other modelers and railfans in our Division. Click here for a rundown of all the counties we cover in WI and the upper peninsula of MI.
Our quarterly e-newsletter is called The Winnebagoland Whistle. The Whistle was presented in print form beginning in 1968 to the end of 2009. It was a good run. With today's focus away from print, we are giving everyone a chance to download it via the web. Visit us often here at wld-nmra.com to keep up-to-date with news, modeling tips, and prototype based articles via The Winnebagoland Whistle!
The Division holds two formal meets per year, one in spring and one in fall. The format for these meets can be found on our new Convention Guidelines page. Both meets feature a full schedule of layout tours, clinics, NMRA and Popular Vote Contests for models and photographs along with a luncheon or banquet featuring a guest speaker. Please visit our Ready Track page for the locations and dates of our upcoming meets.
The Division also hosts an operating session on the first Saturday of November. The operating sessions are held at various layouts around the division. Please check the Op Session page for details.
Please check back often to follow the progress in this new effort of
spreading the hobby! There are many clubs within our Division and most welcome
visitors. Some clubs sponsor non-Divisional events during the year such as swap
meets, open houses, or public displays. Please follow the LINKS provided on this site or view
our Ready Track for information regarding these events.
